Next to the garden, the restaurant "La Luciole" is renowned for its excellent local cuisine :) We recommend calling them to make a reservation at +596 596 73 79 11 or via their website www.restaurantlaluciole.com. The service is open from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM.

It’s more than 1 kilometer long
How high is the canopy walk?
Above the giant bamboos among the mahoganies our canopy is around 15 meters high.

Better choose the early afternoon to enjoy the serenity of the garden.
Is there a special price for groups?
Yes, of course, if you are more than 10 people 😊 Please contact us by email or phone so we can give you a special price.
How long does a ticket stays valid?
The ticket is valid 1 day, you have 3 months to use you pass, and the subscription is of course valid during 1-year staring on the day you bought it.
Do we need to print the ticket(s) that we bought online?
No, the digital version is enough as soon as we can read the bar code. #letssavetrees
What are the advantages of a yearly subscription to the garden?
By joining the Balata garden subscribers community, you will be the first to be informed of the garden actuality, events and special animations. You will also have free access to all the event organized by the garden or at a special price, and fast pass at the garden entrance in order not to be obliged to do the queue.
Do you accept dollars?
Yes, we do. You can also pay by cash, credit card and check.
Is it still possible to visit the garden when on a rainy day?
Yes, totally! Indeed, we are on an island in the Caribbean, then of course the weather is a sometimes a bit rainy and cloudy. However, it’s still possible to spent a nice moment in the garden and to visit it in good conditions. The walk path is punctuated by huts and there are ponchos available at the shop for those who want. No doubt that the particular and charming atmosphere of a rainy day will seduce you!
Is it authorized to smoke?
No, it’s forbidden for security reasons.
Are there some guided tours organized?
Yes, occasionally. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay tuned to our events and actualities.

It’s forbidden for security reasons.
Is there a disabled access?
Yes, of course. In case of difficulties do not hesitate to ask our team, they will be delighted to help.
Is it feasible with a kid in a stroller?
Yes, the path has disabled access for strollers. #welovefamilies
Do the products that are sold in the shop are made locally?
We’ve always been working hand in hand with local artists and craftsmen. However, in order to be able to satisfy everybody we have local and non-local products in our shop.
Does the visit is feasible for elderly people?
Of course, and in case of a difficulty don’t hesitate to ask our staff members. We are here to help.
Can I come with my pets?
No, pets are forbidden for security reasons.
Is there a minimum age to do the visit?
No, but some activities are not allowed for small children. And under-18 imperatively need to be in the company of an adult.
I’m a professional, am I authorized to do a shooting / film?
Even if we are always delighted to see and share our visitor’s pics the social networks, the shootings and films must be strictly managed and supervised by a contract. Please contact us by email for those kinds of requests.
Do you sale seeds, flowers, bouquets?
No, we don’t sale any our seeds or plants because we are a conservation parc. Meaning that we only do exchanges with other botanical gardens of the world.
Are there some animals in the garden?
The only animals that are in the Balata garden are its forever inhabitants: hummingbirds, insects, arthropods and our beautiful Matoutou (Queen of Balata). Keep your eyes opened, if you are lucky you might see our Matoutou.
